Join me in exploring varieties of funky Clayterestt Vase designs, build your own fun and extraordinary vase, where you can dive into all your wildest thoughts and vivacity of colours. We will dive in and embark on the learning experience of how you can decorate, design, and develop your own Clayterestt Vase. We will surely have loads of fun and tons of laughter.

 

Week 1: Setting the foundation

  • Painting Canvas Background
  • Drawing outlines for the vase

Materials needed from home:

  • Paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • Pencil
  • Black Marker Pen

 

Week 2: Adding textures

  • Sculpting and Molding Clay into a vase shape.
  • Stick the clay vase onto the canvas
  • Adding leaves and Flowers to the clay vase

Materials needed at home:

  • Ruler
  • Rolling pin
  • Carpenter Glue (provided)
  • About 15 fresh leaves and flowers from your gardens. (Any color/shapes, about 6cm (or shorter) length

 

Week 3: Into the details

  • Painting and Designing Clay vase

Materials needed from home:

  • Paint
  • Paintbrushes

 

Week 4: Wrapping up

  • Add in details and fill up empty areas around the vase
  • Let’s talk and share about your art

Hello! My name is Lavinia. I have 11 years of teaching experience in English and Art to children aged 2-8 years old experience. My teaching specializing in Early Chilhood Education.

 

I have dedicated my life to teaching and nurturing the young minds of tomorrow. My teaching journey began when I was still in high school, helping out at my aunt’s Childcare Centre. From there, the love of teaching brought me to study in depth and acquire my Diploma in Early Childhood Development at Smart Readers International College of Malaysia, an internationally acclaimed college with links to Hertfordshire University, England.

 

I was at the prime age of 18 while I was studying and working at the same time for a more hands-on approach and to practice what I learnt in college. The whole 4-year voyage tested my ability and gave me valuable first-hand experiences. It ignited my self-confidence, enhanced my talents, and helped me in realizing a rewarding future ahead of me.

 

In all my years of teaching, one thing that I have always had a strong fondness for is Art. I believe that art not only brings out the creativity in a young ones, but also helps them in boosting their critical thinking, building their self-confidence, and stepping out of their comfort zone.

 

For me, what makes art even more interesting for children is when I incorporate art with nature. I first saw this potential when I went camping, that’s when it hit me that nature is a work of art. My Backyard Art Classes will revolve around these concepts to unlock children’s full capabilities and talents.

 

In these Backyard Art Classes, children will learn:

  • Different Artistic Techniques
  • Working with different texture on nature materials
  • Colour Exploration

 

This will be done through stages and/or levels. Each class will be given a topic for them to discover their inner Van Gogh’s and Picasso’s. There will be discussions, teachable moments through artistic devising, and laying out foundations for them to find their aha moments.

 

When the project is done, children will do a mini showcase to present their masterpiece to the entire class and parents.
